Here is a small selection of my original paintings to demonstrate the breadth of my work, subject interest and style presently available for sale. All measurements reflect the size including mount and backboard – any choice of frame or delivery can then be discussed individually. Prices reflect the amount of individual work involved. Payment plans can b arranged.
All mounted giclee prints on high quality archival paper are priced relating to size, cards 6 x 6 inch £3.00 and postcards £1 each. Local sellers Bankfield Museum, Shibden Hall, The Yorkshire Gallery at the Piece Hall and the Design Shop at Dean Clough.

Young Barn Owl

This little character was trying to take a nap whilst the crowds passed by at the Halifax Agricultural Show. A joy to paint with the thick layer of delicate feathers as he fluffed himself up.

Mr Fox

Taken from our wildlife trail camera in the undergrowth, the fox has obviously heard something of interest.

Halifax Borough Market Clock

Our borough market in Halifax is a Victorian gem with the clock standing in the centre. The fairy lights ready for Christmas and the fading afternoon light through the many rooftop windows shows the warm glow from the ornate lamps.

Forza D’Agro, Sicily

This small village in Sicily was one of the film locations for ‘The Godfather’. Away from the tourist crowds and exploring the old town which climbs up the hill there is a subject ripe for painting around every corner. I particularly enjoyed painting the dappled shade, discovering many colours within.
Passing Through

Venice for me, like many, is an absolute favourite city to explore. The textures of the crumbling architecture and the light bouncing colours around the salty waters is just a dream for a watercolourist. This image is from a journey made in a gondola at high tide, mid-day, with the ripples created as we slowly passed through this spectacular place.
Wren Fledgling

This little fledgling is just the most perfect creature in my eyes. I was literally two feet away from the tiny bird while the parents returned to feed.

Treasure

Treasure can always be found at the beach. I can lose myself for hour after hour while others sunbathe or swim. These are some of my treasures from Sandridge Beach in Barbados, where we married.

This painting was created from a visit to the Christmas market in Leeds. It was selected for the Sunday Times Watercolour Prize and travelled to London but unfortunately didn’t make the final cut for the exhibition.
A particular favourite of mine.

Bananaquits on Torch Ginger

In the Flower Forest Botanical Gardens of Barbados these small birds, with a fantastic name, were flitting in and out of the sun spots. Competing for the nectar of the torch ginger with the hummingbirds, which were just too fast for me.
Fading Beauty

It is always lovely to receive flowers and enjoy them in bloom but I find beauty in the fading blooms too, laid on a table and casting shadows.
Gazing Up

Cala Figuera, Mallorca has given me many subjects to paint. However this particular tree was where I stood at the end of a hot day waiting for the best spot in town to eat. Drink in hand and miles away.
Peony Tree

After seeing a peony tree in a local open garden at Warley several years ago we now have more than several dotted around the garden. They may not flower for long, especially if the wind picks up at our altitude, but they are stunning.
The Crescent, Buxton

The Buxton Spa Prize was the excuse to paint here, I began the painting en plein air chatting to many people as I worked. I chose one corner of the building as at the time much was covered with scaffold, during renovations. A true exercise in perspective and arches.
Casting Shadows

I was intrigued by the display of waterlilies at RHS Bridgewater, in shallow water with the leaves throwing beautiful shadows. The unusual orange leaf against blue added to the interest.
This painting will be part of the Calderdale Open 2025 exhibiting and for sale at The Smith Gallery from 5th July until 6th December.
Hellebore in Blue

We have many hellebores that grow in our garden but this one catches the morning light as you climb the stairs to the top lawn. I love the play on light and colour.
Skyline at Sunset

When the sun sets behind the tree outside my home studio it cries out to be painted. I happened to look up from my work at just the right time to see this gorgeous sunset.
