2023 Course Timetable

Workshops are bookable through the Bankfield Museum website during the exhibition 'Three Miles from Home'.

All of the autumn day classes at my studio have been moved to November and fully booked.

I would normally have a full timetable uploaded for next year in November but due to waiting for an operation and other factors I am afraid that my timetable will not be posted until after March 2024.
Sorry for any disappointment.
If you wish to be added to my mailing list then please use the contact page and I will confirm.

To book for the ALBW 2023 workshops at Bankfield Museum please use the contact page and I will reply as soon as possible.

I am available to book for demonstrations and workshops within an hour or so travel from Halifax, extra travel expenses incur for a longer distance.
Any enquiries welcome, any subject matter in watercolour can be discussed.

Statement of copyright covering all tuition as of 2022.
I provide my own subject matter for the purpose of tuition so that any work produced by participants should only be used as a lesson experience and practice, to then be applied in your own work. No resulting class work can be put up for public sale without permission, due to withholding copyright on my own images.

2023 Course Timetable

All courses are held at my home studio which provides a friendly, informal atmosphere and a lot of individual attention due to a maximum of 5 people per session.
Punch Bowl House, HX3 6UB.
Any enquiries please fill out the contact page and I will reply as soon as I am able.
Alternatively you can leave a message for me with your number on 01422 353308.

Each course is suitable for all abilities as everyone is encouraged individually to develop their own work with plenty of instruction due to the small class size of 5 maximum. The aim is to improve but overall to enjoy painting with watercolour.
All the courses have working images provided and are designed to increase your skill, building knowledge and practice of watercolour techniques. I keep extra supplies however you do need to bring along your own paper, paint and brushes – advice available for beginners. Refreshments provided.

I am taking bookings in advance, including reserve lists and will contact everyone two weeks prior to the booking in order to check if circumstances have changed in any respect – only then will I take any payment.

Most courses are already full and taking reserve lists only however in these times plans can change and you may well still be contacted.

All classes will take place at my home studio Punch Bowl House HX3 6UB on Tuesdays and Fridays, course times either 10-12 PM or 1-3 PM.
Day classes 10-4 PM, lunch no longer provided.

Personally I always work with Bockingford 250lbs, 535gsm NOT paper as techniques work better with cotton based paper, the heavier the better to get the most from your efforts.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE, I HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL AGAIN SOON.

Here are a few testimonials from my artists attending  past courses.

'I have always enjoyed your classes very much and find your enthusiasm for teaching us shines out, learning in such a close homely atmosphere is both relaxing and therapeutic. Not to mention how much you have taught me, all of which has helped improve my work. The subject matter has always been varied and at times challenging but you always get us there which I admire you for.' Janet Gledhill, Halifax.

'Jane's art classes are not just a lesson. She puts so much thought and work into each class and is so welcoming and relaxed with every person that it is an experience not to be missed. She is full of encouragement, even a total mess and she will find something positive to say!! Sometimes, I look at the subject for that lesson and think what am I doing this for its so boring, but sure enough she makes it so intriguing that you want to finish the painting at home. The day course with an excellent lunch is amazing value and good company when you have time to chat! Because it all takes place in the family home it has a relaxed ambience and only takes a small group which is great.'  Jen Dawson, Halifax.

'I love that Jane encourages individuality within the class subject matter. Her demonstrations are inspiring.' Stephanie Binns, Halifax.

'The Watercolour Art Classes run by Jane are small and friendly and held in her lovely home. She is a very good teacher providing excellent tuition in a friendly manner and a wide range of subject matter which suit beginners and the more experienced.' Margaret West, Northowram.

'If you have never painted loosely give it a go and see if it's for you.' Tricia Benson, Norland.

'I always find your classes friendly, helpful and inspiring. Having attended your 10 week lessons in Northowram and the day classes in your home, I particularly love to come to your home. There is always a warm welcome and the cosier atmosphere and smaller classes are really helpful and enjoyable.' Maureen Craven, Castleford.
